What is the Samsung Kies Program?
Our software, Samsung Kies, is a piece of software which is free to everyone. With it, you are able to easily take control of your Samsung device’s data. Whether it be backing up your data, or restoring files that you once thought you had lost. Perhaps you are looking to selectively transfer data? You can do just that! If you want to only transfer your photos, or maybe just your contacts, from your Samsung device to your computer then you are able to do so. This is important, especially if you are prone to having issues with technology.
Worried about whether this program will support your device? Don’t worry! There are 2 versions of the program. If your device is Android version 4.2 or lower, then you can use Samsung Kies. If your device is Android version 4.3 or higher, then you can use Samsung Kies 3.
How You Can Transfer and Backup Data with Samsung Kies
If you have a smart device which was released prior to the release of the Galaxy Note 7 (this includes devices such as the Galaxy S7 smartphone, or the Note 5) then you must download Samsung Kies. If you have a smart device which was released after the release of the Galaxy Note 3, then you will be required to download Samsung Kies 3.
So without further ado, let’s jump into it.
Step #1 – Start by downloading and installing the program accordingly. Once installed, launch the program.
Step #2 – After the program has launched, connect your Samsung device using a USB cable. Within a few seconds, the program should display a message that your device has been connected.
Step #3 – Once your device has been connected, you will be able to select the type of data that you’d like to transfer on the panel that can be found on the left hand side. Click on the type of data that you’d like to transfer.
Step #4 – You will now be able to view all of the data within that category. Take a few moments to go through all of the files that appear and select what you’d like to transfer.
Step #5 – Once you have selected all of the data that you’d like to transfer, click on the “Save” icon which can be found on the top bar of the program.
Step #6 – After doing the steps above, it’s time to back up your device. On the left panel, select your device and then on the “Backup/Restore” option.
Step #7 – Now all you have to do is simply select whether you’d like to backup or restore data, select the data that you’d like to backup or restore, and click on the button at the top.
Backing up & Transferring Data with a Dead Samsung Device
While usually an incredibly difficult task, using the program ‘FoneCopy.’, the task of transferring data from a Samsung device that you once thought was completely dead becomes a reality.
Step #1 – Start with downloading and installing the ‘FoneCopy’ program accordingly, and launch it.
Step #2 – Once the program has launched, a display will be shown that prompts you to connect 2 devices. You must connect your dead Samsung device along with the device that you’d like to transfer data to.
Step #3 – After connecting both devices using USB cables, you will be able to select the type of data that you’d like to transfer. Select the types of data that you’d like to transfer and click on the “Start to copy” button.
After clicking on that button, depending on how much data you are transferring, it should take no longer than a few minutes. You now have access to all of the data that you once thought was lost forever. After showing you 2 very different methods, you are now able to transfer and backup data with Samsung Kies, as well as FoneCopy, in just a few minutes.
FoneCopy
It’s also important to remember that before you run ahead and transfer the data on your Android device, you back up the data that is stored on your device in case something goes wrong. In order to do so, you can use our program FoneCopy which includes a variety of features such as:
- Transferring all of your data from your old phone directly to your new phone.
- Supports not only Android devices, but Apple devices too.
- If you believe that your phone has died and you are unable to access the data stored on it, you are able to retrieve all of that data using FoneCopy.
As you can see, there are many reasons for having the FoneCopy program by your side, regardless of which phone you have.
